Wash U MDClone Natural Language Processing
MDClone has a Natural Language Processing (NLP) feature that allows users to analyze notes from Electronic Health Records in addition to discrete data fields. This incredibly powerful tool requires both experience with NLP analyses and an IRB approval in order to gain access. IRB approval is required as the notes contain Protected Health Information.
NLP Considerations
Prior to completing an IRB application and planning to use MDClone consider:
- Do I or my study team have the technical experience required to use NLP?
- Does my research question require NLP analyses?
- [add any additional considerations]
