DBA daily routine and checks (rework in progress)

Regular maintenance is an important part of the an Database administrator's duties to maintain the data systems supported by the Institute for Informatics, Data Science and Biostatistics (I2DB). There are variety of regular tasks that should reviewed daily and scheduled based on impact and then coordinated with Team Leads and I2DB's leadership.

Prioritizing Impacts

  • Priorities assigned by Team Leads and I2DB's leadership

  • System failures/errors that would impact the usability of I2DB platforms and prevent/degrade users ability to perform Research activities or perform work tasks. Priority of impact usually means Production has priority over QA and Dev environments

These are the alerts, generally received by email and Teams channels these need to be reviewed first thing each day as they can impact on going project tasks or platform operations.
